Exemplifying probably the most intricate techniques of forging, layering, and hammering, Blue Steel #1 with a hardness at the Rockwell scale of 64-65, is forged with iron to create probably the most elaborate of finishes.
With its handmade, Ebony wood with sterling silver ring Maintain, this knife is light and well balanced. This knife comes with a double water buffalo horn bolster, and a lacquered magnolia wood saya cover, which is easy to clean and resistant to stain and odor.
The Yanagi Kiritsuke is moderately heavier with a with a blade that may be wider and a spine that may be thicker. The sword tip helps balance the weight of the knife and is really useful for chefs who are fascinated by a Yanagi Kiritsuke but have a smaller working space. Even the most simple of tasks are elevated with a handcrafted knife that may be as beautiful as it’s functional.
